Aviation expert Okeyima has described the Gateway International Airport in Ogun State as a key infrastructure project capable of transforming cargo transportation within Nigeria and across West Africa. According to Okeyima, the airport’s strategic location near industrial clusters and major highways gives it a strong advantage for cargo operations.
Aviation analysts say Nigeria’s expanding trade activities require modern airport infrastructure capable of handling large scale freight movement. Cargo terminals equipped with cold storage facilities can help preserve agricultural products during export.
Experts also believe the development of cargo hubs could enhance regional trade within West Africa by facilitating faster movement of goods between countries.
Okeyima emphasized that sustained investment in aviation infrastructure is essential for strengthening Nigeria’s position as a regional trade center.
