Afrobeats star Davido has reacted angrily to a viral video showing a violent bullying incident involving students of Igbinedion Secondary School in Edo State.

The singer, whose real name is David Adeleke, expressed his outrage on X on Sunday after the disturbing footage began circulating online. Reacting to the video, Davido condemned the attackers in strong terms, writing: “Fuckin animals… so disgusting.”

The video shows two male students repeatedly assaulting a fellow student who had already fallen to the ground. In the clip, the victim appears helpless as the attackers continue to beat him.

At one point, one of the students drags the victim by his school uniform before stomping on his chest and head while the boy cries out in pain. The disturbing footage also captures another student who was recording the incident pleading with the attackers to stop.

The video quickly sparked outrage on social media, with many Nigerians condemning the violence and calling for the school authorities to take disciplinary action against those involved.

Following the public backlash, authorities of Igbinedion Secondary School announced disciplinary measures against the students responsible for the assault.

The school confirmed that the students who carried out the bullying have been expelled, while the student who recorded the incident has been suspended.

Reacting to the development, the Edo State Police Command also confirmed that it is investigating the matter.

Police spokesperson Eno Ikioyedem disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, Monday Agbonika, has directed the Divisional Police Officer in the area to carry out a full investigation into the incident.

According to the police, the command strongly condemns acts of bullying, violence, or intimidation among students.

“The Edo State Police Command strongly condemns acts of bullying, violence, or intimidation among students, and anyone found culpable will face the full weight of the law,” the statement added.
