U.S. President Donald Trump has declared that Iran’s military leadership has been eliminated in the ongoing bombardments carried out by the United States and Israel, claiming that several Iranian officials are now seeking to surrender.
Trump made the remarks in an interview with the Daily Mail, where he suggested that the conflict could last “about four weeks.” He argued that an Iran equipped with long-range missiles and nuclear weapons would pose a grave threat to the United States.
“An Iranian government that has long-range missiles and nuclear weapons would be a great danger to every American,” Trump said. “We can’t let a country that builds terrorist groups have weapons strong enough to force the world to follow their bad plans. That’s not going to happen.”
According to earlier reports, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed after his residence was struck on Saturday. Iranian media confirmed his death, stating that members of his family — including his daughter, grandchild, son-in-law, and daughter-in-law — were also killed in the attack.
The Israeli military further announced the deaths of several senior Iranian officials. Among them were Ali Shamkhani, a top adviser to Khamenei, and Mohammad Pakpour, head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
In a post on X, the Israel Defense Forces said it had eliminated multiple high-ranking figures, including Defence Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh; Mohammad Shirazi, Chief of the Military Bureau of the Supreme Leader; Hossein Jabal Amelian, Chairman of SPND; Reza Mozafari-Nia, former SPND chairman; Salah Asadi, Head of Intelligence of Khatem Alanbieh Command; and Abdolrahim Mousavi, Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces.
Trump further claimed that Iran’s “whole military leadership is gone” and that many officials are now seeking immunity. “They want immunity. They’re calling by the thousands,” he said.
The situation marks a dramatic escalation in the Middle East conflict, with regional and global implications continuing to unfold.
