Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has claimed that there are indications Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khameini may be dead following Israeli military strikes in Iran.

Speaking in a televised address on Saturday evening, Netanyahu said Israel’s campaign “will go on as long as it is needed” and asserted that the conflict will bring about “true peace.” He described Iran’s regime as “murderous” and argued it should not possess nuclear weapons capable of threatening humanity.

“Signs show that Khameini is no longer with us,” Netanyahu stated, adding that airstrikes had destroyed the Iranian leader’s compound. “All indications show this tyrant is no longer with us.”

The remarks contradict earlier statements from the Iranian Foreign Ministry, which assured the public that both the Supreme Leader and the President were “safe and sound.”

Netanyahu addressed the Iranian people, describing them as courageous and urging them to seize a “once-in-a-generation chance” to overthrow the regime. He called on citizens to “take to the streets en masse” and complete what he termed a historic mission to “eradicate this regime.”

The Israeli Prime Minister also said the strikes had successfully targeted senior figures in Iran’s nuclear program as well as other top officials. He framed the military campaign as an opportunity to “unshackle” the Iranian populace from tyranny and emphasized the urgency of mass action.

The situation remains highly volatile, with conflicting claims from Israel and Iran regarding the status of the country’s leadership and ongoing military operations
