A political pressure group has publicly backed the resignation of a senior figure, Yusuf, from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), describing the move as timely and necessary for political stability.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the group said Yusuf’s exit would allow the party to reorganize and address internal disagreements that have weakened its cohesion in recent months.
The group accused Yusuf of contributing to internal conflicts and said his continued presence had become a distraction to the party’s leadership and grassroots supporters.
NNPP officials declined to comment extensively but acknowledged ongoing efforts to resolve internal disputes. Party insiders say the resignation could trigger further realignments ahead of future elections.
Political analysts say the development highlights the growing tensions within emerging political parties as they struggle to maintain unity.
