The Ogun State Government has said that social welfare activist, Adetoun Onajobi, popularly known as Just Adetoun, has gone into hiding, while a medical doctor accused of issuing a fake medical report to assist her has been remanded in prison.
The state government disclosed that the Ogun State Police Command has filed a six count charge against the activist, who is currently at large, following a petition submitted by the government.
This was contained in a statement posted on the official X page of the Ogun State Government on Monday by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade, SAN.
According to the statement, the controversy began after Nigerian born British boxer, Anthony Joshua, was involved in a road accident in Ogun State in December 2025.
The Attorney General said Onajobi released videos alleging that there was no functional ambulance service in the state and accused Governor Dapo Abiodun of abandoning his duties.
He described the allegations as false, misleading and capable of endangering public safety, stating that the state operates multiple emergency response and ambulance services.
Following the videos, the state petitioned the police over alleged violations of the Cybercrimes Act, 2015.
Ogungbade said the police invited the activist in early January 2026 but she failed to honour the invitation and allegedly went into hiding.
While evading arrest, she reportedly released another video claiming she was ill, after which her lawyer submitted a medical report to the police.
However, investigations revealed that the medical report was fabricated. The doctor who issued the document allegedly admitted that he never examined or treated Onajobi.
The Attorney General said the doctor was arrested, charged and remanded, while Onajobi remains on the run. The police said investigations are ongoing.
