Preparations are in full swing for the wedding ceremony of nine children of the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, scheduled to take place in Abuja.
Details of the event emerged following the circulation of an invitation card on social media, which features the minister’s photograph and outlines plans for the ceremony. According to the invitation, the weddings will be held at the Abuja Central Mosque at 1:30 pm on February 6.
The children slated to wed on the same day are Ibrahim, Suraj, Safiya, Maryam, Aisha, Fahad, Muh’d, Nana Firdausi and Farida. Party officials confirmed that the group consists of five sons and four daughters.
A spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress in Zamfara State, Yusuf Idris, confirmed the development and disclosed that planning for the event has reached an advanced stage. He said arrangements were being coordinated by a dedicated committee to ensure the smooth conduct of the ceremony.
Idris noted that the choice of venue and date was made to accommodate invited guests from different parts of the country, adding that logistical preparations were progressing as scheduled.
He further stated that the weddings would be conducted in line with Islamic rites at the national mosque, describing the occasion as a moment of joy for the minister and his family.
The announcement has continued to generate public attention, with many Nigerians reacting to the scale of the ceremony and the decision to hold all nine weddings on the same day.
Officials involved in the planning assured that necessary measures were being put in place to manage crowd control, security and general coordination for the event.
