Newly appointed board member of the Federal Agricultural Extension Organisation, Mudasiru has pledged to support policies and programmes that will strengthen agricultural productivity, farmer education, and food security across Nigeria.
Speaking after his appointment was confirmed, Mudasiru said his focus would be on improving extension services delivery, particularly for smallholder farmers who remain critical to national food production but often lack access to modern techniques and resources.
He emphasised the need for stronger collaboration between government agencies, research institutions, and local farming communities to bridge the gap between policy and practice. According to him, effective extension services are essential for addressing climate challenges, post harvest losses, and low yield levels affecting the sector.
Mudasiru noted that agriculture remains a key driver of employment and economic stability, especially in rural areas, and pledged to bring private sector efficiency and accountability into FAEO operations.
Industry stakeholders have welcomed the appointment, expressing optimism that renewed leadership focus could enhance farmer training programmes and improve the adoption of improved seeds, mechanisation, and sustainable farming practices.
