Popular Nigerian gospel singer, Bunmi Akinnanu, widely celebrated for her soul stirring hit song Omije Ojumi, has died, throwing fans and the Christian music community into mourning.

Akinnanu’s death comes after months of concern over her health, during which she publicly sought prayers and spiritual support while battling a severe leg condition. In the footage, Akinnanu was seen seated while clerics prayed fervently for her healing. The presiding minister disclosed during the service that the singer had been suffering persistent complications in her leg, prompting an emotional prayer session that later went viral.
