The Lagos State chapter of the ruling party has defended President Bola Tinubu against criticism arising from recent economic and fiscal reforms. Party leaders stated that the president is making bold and difficult decisions necessary to correct longstanding structural weaknesses in the economy.
According to the party reforms in taxation energy subsidy removal and public finance restructuring are designed to stabilise the economy attract investment and reduce dependency on debt. They acknowledged that the measures have caused short term discomfort but insisted that long term benefits outweigh immediate challenges.
The party argued that previous administrations avoided tough reforms leaving accumulated problems that now require decisive action. They urged Nigerians to assess the administration based on long term outcomes rather than temporary hardship.
Lagos APC leaders expressed confidence in the president’s economic vision citing his track record in fiscal management and governance. They called for national unity patience and constructive engagement rather than political hostility.
The party reaffirmed its support for continued reforms and promised to work with federal authorities to address public concerns and mitigate hardship where possible.
