President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has departed Nigeria for Europe on an official visit aimed at strengthening diplomatic relations, economic partnerships, and bilateral cooperation. According to a statement from the Presidency, the trip will include meetings with key political and business leaders across selected European countries.

The visit comes at a time when Nigeria is intensifying efforts to attract foreign direct investment, stabilize its economy, and deepen international alliances. Officials say President Tinubu’s engagements will focus on energy cooperation, trade expansion, infrastructure development, and security collaboration.

Presidential aides disclosed that the President will also engage with members of the Nigerian diaspora, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to leveraging diaspora contributions for national development.

Critics, however, have questioned the frequency of foreign trips by public officials amid domestic economic challenges. Supporters counter that international diplomacy is essential for restoring investor confidence and repositioning Nigeria globally.

The Presidency has assured Nigerians that governance will continue seamlessly in the President’s absence, with key cabinet members overseeing day-to-day affairs.
