Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo Olu, has called on local and foreign investors to explore the growing business opportunities in the state following its emergence as the top performing state in Nigeria’s latest ease of doing business ranking.
The governor made the call on Tuesday during the inauguration of TY Logistics Park FZE, an ultra modern logistics and warehousing facility located in Alaro City within the Lekki Free Zone.
Sanwo Olu said the project, developed by TY Holdings, represents a major boost to Nigeria’s logistics and supply chain sector and reflects the confidence investors continue to show in Lagos as a preferred investment destination.
According to him, Lagos recently emerged first in the Subnational Ease of Doing Business report released by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council with a score of 85.6 per cent.
He said the ranking is the result of sustained reforms, infrastructure development and deliberate government policies aimed at creating a friendly environment for businesses to thrive.
“Inaugurating the 29,000 square metre facility alongside the Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, Sanwo Olu described the project as a landmark investment that strengthens Lagos’ economic outlook,” he said.
The governor added that the development reinforces Alaro City’s growing status as a major industrial hub in sub Saharan Africa and supports the state’s broader economic growth agenda.
He also disclosed that the state government is working on a dedicated road to link Lekki Port, Dangote Refinery and Alaro City in order to reduce pressure on the Lekki Epe Expressway.
In his remarks, Governor Kefas commended the project and said it would enhance inter state economic cooperation, particularly in the movement of agricultural produce from Taraba to Lagos markets and processing centres.
