The Nigerian Army has rescued a kidnapped pastor, Reverend Ephraim Yakubu, following a targeted operation in the Miango area of Bassa Local Government Area in Plateau State.
The clergyman was abducted on the third of December twenty twenty five outside his home in the Agingi community along Rukuba Road.
According to security sources referenced by Zagazola Makama, troops were conducting a sweep of elevated terrains around Miango on the fourth of December when they encountered the kidnappers.
The confrontation forced the armed criminals to flee the area, abandoning the pastor in the process.
Reverend Yakubu was later found bound beneath a rocky outcrop with injuries sustained during his captivity.
Security forces recovered a locally fabricated rifle and a magazine containing eight rounds of nine millimetre ammunition at the site.
He was immediately transferred to the Three Division Military Specialist Hospital for medical care.
The Army has confirmed that search operations are ongoing to track down and arrest the kidnappers who escaped during the encounter.
The rescue adds to a series of recent military actions aimed at curbing abductions and violent attacks in Plateau and surrounding states.
