The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reported that 2,449,475 Nigerians have completed the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), combining both online and physical processes. The Commission disclosed that 1,425,898 individuals completed the online pre-registration, while 1,023,577 finalised their registration through in-person biometric capture.
Osun State topped the nationwide list with 193,026 completed registrations, followed by Imo with 144,209 and Kano with 142,433. Other leading states include Sokoto (132,584), Lagos (115,334), Borno (112,226), and the Federal Capital Territory (106,855). Kogi (97,012), Jigawa (95,543), and Zamfara (90,739) also recorded significant numbers.
Several states in the South-West have maintained strong registration figures, particularly Osun and Lagos. Meanwhile, northern states have shown increased participation, driven by local mobilisation efforts involving community-based organisations, religious leaders, and government officials.
Smaller registration figures were recorded in Plateau (25,301), Taraba (18,731), Enugu (17,234), Ondo (16,709), Cross River (15,339), and Abia (13,875). Anambra State remains at zero as voter registration is suspended following the recent governorship election, in line with Section 9(6) of the Electoral Act 2022.
The CVR exercise, which began on August 18, 2025, is scheduled to conclude in August 2026. INEC continues to urge eligible Nigerians to take part in the registration process to ensure broad-based electoral participation ahead of upcoming elections.
