RE: A NATIONAL EMERGENCY DEMANDING URGENT, COLLABORATIVE, AND STRATEGIC RESPONSE
By: GN (Dr.) Kayode Elusoji, Executive Director, Great Nigerian Assembly (GNA)
Your Excellency,
Nigeria stands at the edge of a crisis unprecedented in our recent history. From the rural districts of Kwara to the heartlands of Kano, Nasarawa, Kebbi, and Niger, the storm of terror, banditry, and lawlessness is advancing with brutal speed and increasing sophistication.
While the nation was still celebrating the rescue of kidnapped schoolchildren and worshippers, another 24-hour window saw the abduction of over 20 Nigerians—including pregnant women, children, and teenagers. These back-to-back tragedies are not isolated incidents; they represent a systemic failure that threatens the very soul of our country.
This security emergency calls for more than another round of policy announcements. It demands a unified, courageous, and people-centered strategy—anchored on patriotism, innovation, accountability, and faith in the Nigerian people.
THE NATION UNDER SIEGE: TERROR WITHOUT BORDERS
The persistent and escalating attacks on communities across Nigeria highlight the entrenched operations of well-funded and transnational terrorist networks. These are not mere bandits—they are organized insurgent cells working through local collaborators and exploiting national vulnerabilities.
We can no longer ignore the possibility of internal sabotage—by political actors, institutional gatekeepers, or ideological sympathizers who either directly or indirectly enable these atrocities. While justice must always be based on evidence, we must have the moral courage to investigate and confront those who benefit from or shield insecurity.
Even in this complexity, Nigeria must remain rooted in constitutional law, ethical justice, and unwavering commitment to protecting all lives—regardless of region, religion, or political affiliation.
A CALL FOR PATRIOTIC UNITY: GOVERNMENT CANNOT FIGHT ALONE
This is not a battle the government can win alone. It is time to mobilize a national front—one that unites every sector of Nigerian life:
-
Opposition parties must rise beyond politics to support constitutional solutions aimed at defeating terror.
-
Security agencies must be re-equipped, re-motivated, and held to strict performance standards.
-
Traditional rulers, faith leaders, and community vigilantes must be integrated into a coordinated security framework.
-
Nigerians in the diaspora must be engaged through funding, innovation, diplomatic advocacy, and intelligence support.
-
Citizens at home must feel empowered to report threats, knowing their voices matter and their information will lead to visible action.
We must also combat the spread of fake news and misinformation, which worsens public panic and undermines national resilience. Every citizen must understand that if Nigeria collapses, we all bear the consequence—leaders, followers, rich and poor alike.
THE GNA CAA GOVERNANCE MODEL: A THIRD-EYE GRASSROOTS STRATEGY
As part of our contribution to long-term nation-saving strategies, the Great Nigerian Assembly (GNA) is unveiling the CAA Governance Model—a Community–Accountability–
-
Monitor Projects and Security Needs at the Local Government, State, and National levels.
-
Hold Public Officials Accountable through real-time dashboards tracking project delivery and security efforts.
-
Promote Civic Participation via an AI-supported digital platform that allows citizens to:
-
Raise “Appeals” about insecurity or poor governance.
-
Make “Recommendations” to celebrate community heroes and promote national unity.
-
-
Build Trust Between Government and Citizens by enabling two-way, transparent communication and community feedback loops.
-
Involve Diaspora Nigerians in sustainable development, youth reorientation, and targeted grassroots support.
This model is non-partisan, non-confrontational, and community-led—serving as a “third eye” to complement government efforts, improve responsiveness, and restore public confidence in democratic governance.
WHAT MUST BE DONE: RECOMMENDATIONS FOR URGENT ACTION
-
Scale Up Kinetic and Non-Kinetic Security Responses
Military operations, negotiation, local policing, and civil engagement must be synchronized in a national security framework. -
Create a Joint Security Intelligence Clearinghouse
Establish a central hub where verified intelligence from federal agencies, vigilantes, citizens, and diaspora sources is aggregated and acted upon swiftly. -
Restore Public Trust Through Visible Results
Kidnappers must be prosecuted. Saboteurs must be unmasked. Soldiers must be supported. Communities must be protected. People must see that the government cares. -
Engage International Partners Now
The scale of this crisis has outgrown local solutions. Nigeria must now activate international military, diplomatic, and intelligence collaborations to disrupt global terror linkages. -
Demonstrate Presidential Leadership and Listening Governance
Your Excellency, Nigerians want to see not just action, but empathy. They want to know their lives matter. They want to believe that their pain is not just heard—but will lead to change.
MAY HISTORY FIND US FAITHFUL
Mr. President, this is a defining moment in our nation’s history.
You are not only the Commander-in-Chief—you are the moral compass of a nation seeking hope and safety. The Nigerian people do not need more promises—they need bold, sincere, and collective action. And they need it now.
The Great Nigerian Assembly (GNA) stands ready to work alongside your administration, opposition leaders, security institutions, and our global allies to rescue our people, restore our nation, and reignite the Nigerian dream.
Let history record that when Nigeria stood on the brink, her leaders—governmental, religious, civic, and diasporic—chose unity over division, action over apathy, and courage over convenience.
May Nigeria be saved.
Respectfully submitted,
GN (Dr.) Kayode Elusoji
Executive Director, Great Nigerian Assembly (GNA)
