The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has released its timetable and schedule of activities for the 2027 general elections, fixing the cost of its presidential nomination form at N100 million and governorship form at N50 million.
According to the party, the timetable was signed by its National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, and announced in a statement by National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka on Monday night in Abuja. It was issued in line with the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the Electoral Act 2026, and INEC’s revised schedule for the 2027 elections.
Under the guidelines, presidential aspirants are to pay N30 million for expression of interest and N70 million for nomination, bringing the total to N100 million. Governorship aspirants will pay N10 million for expression of interest and N40 million for nomination, totalling N50 million.
Senate aspirants are expected to pay N20 million, made up of N3 million for expression of interest and N17 million for nomination. Those seeking seats in the House of Representatives will pay N10 million, while State House of Assembly aspirants will pay N6 million, including N1 million for expression of interest and N5 million for nomination.
The party also announced concessions for certain groups. Female aspirants, youths, and persons living with disabilities are required to pay only the expression of interest fee and 50 percent of the nomination fee for all positions.
On the timetable, APC said notification of elections to state chapters began on Monday, April 20, 2026. The sale of nomination forms will run from April 25 to May 2, while the deadline for submission of completed forms is May 4.
Screening for State Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, and governorship aspirants is scheduled for May 6 to May 8, while presidential aspirants will be screened on May 9. Screening results will be published on May 11, with appeals slated for May 12 to May 13.
Primary elections will begin with the presidential primary from May 15 to May 16, followed by House of Representatives on May 18, Senate on May 20, State Assembly on May 21, and governorship on May 23. Appeals will follow immediately, with governorship appeals set for May 25.
The APC reaffirmed its commitment to a credible and transparent process, stating that the exercise would strengthen internal democracy and uphold the party’s progressive ideals.
