Veteran Nollywood actor Bolaji Amusan, popularly known as Mr Latin, has graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Peace and Conflict Resolution from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).
The actor announced the achievement on Saturday via his Instagram page, describing it as a major personal milestone after years of academic pursuit.
“Today, I am proud to be conferred with a BSc in Peace and Conflict Resolution. Done and dusted,” he wrote.
Amusan, who also serves as President of the Theatre Arts and Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria, expressed gratitude to God for seeing him through the programme, while also appreciating his family, friends, and supporters for their encouragement.
“To God be all the glory. Thank you, Lord, for the successful convocation,” he added.
The comic actor revealed that he resumed formal education in 2017 through NOUN after being away from the academic system for over two decades due to financial challenges that prevented him from attending university after secondary school.
Born in Gbongan, Osun State, Mr Latin began his acting career in 1988 and transitioned into comedy in 1991, eventually becoming one of Nollywood’s most recognisable comic figures.
He adopted the stage name “Mr Latin” following a film shoot in 1992, when a line he delivered in French was mistaken for Latin by a producer.
His latest academic achievement has been widely celebrated by fans and colleagues in the entertainment industry as a testament to lifelong learning and perseverance.
