The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Joash Amupitan, is set to deliver a keynote address at a stakeholders’ policy dialogue focused on Nigeria’s electoral process.

The event, organised by Law Corridor, is scheduled to take place on April 29, 2026, at the Abuja Continental Hotel.

According to a statement issued on Friday by the organisers, the high-level dialogue will bring together political party leaders, civil society organisations, as well as local and international election observers to discuss critical issues affecting Nigeria’s electoral system.

Several prominent experts are expected to participate in the dialogue, including Muyiwa Atoyebi, Seun Okinbaloye, Bala Maiyaki, Ahmed Raji, Patrick Ikwueto, Alhassan Umar, Dantele Yusuf, and Bukola Idowu, among others.

The organisers said the dialogue aims to foster collaboration among stakeholders from both the public and private sectors, with a focus on addressing key challenges ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking in the statement, the Managing Partner of Law Corridor, Henry Kelechukwu Eni-Otu, emphasised the importance of the engagement.

“This year’s Policy Dialogue is critical given its proximity to the 2027 general elections. The need to address pressing issues within Nigeria’s electoral process has become increasingly important,” he said.

He added that discussions at the forum are expected to produce actionable recommendations that will help strengthen the credibility and integrity of elections in the country.

The organisers also disclosed that a policy brief containing recommendations and a reform roadmap will be developed after the event and submitted to relevant government ministries and agencies.

They noted that at the previous edition, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ola Olukoyede, led discussions that focused on issues within the real estate sector.
