The Federal Government has reiterated its unwavering commitment to defeating terrorism and restoring lasting peace across the country.
Speaking at a security briefing in Abuja on Thursday, government officials emphasized that ongoing operations by the Armed Forces and intelligence agencies are yielding positive results in several regions previously affected by insurgent activities.
According to the briefing, the administration remains focused on strengthening collaboration among security agencies, investing in modern technology, and enhancing the welfare of security personnel. The government also assured citizens that it is intensifying efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and disrupt their sources of funding.
It noted that while progress has been recorded, the fight against terrorism requires continuous vigilance, community support, and accurate intelligence sharing. “We are determined to defeat terrorism and ensure that every Nigerian can live in peace and security,” the statement read in part.
Security analysts have commended the renewed focus on intelligence-driven operations, describing it as a strategic shift that could significantly weaken terrorist capabilities in the months ahead.
The government, however, called for public cooperation, stressing that the war against terrorism cannot be won through military action alone but through collective national resolve.
