The Nigeria Police Force has unsealed the National Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at Wadata Plaza in Abuja, alongside Legacy House in Maitama, restoring control to the party’s leadership in compliance with court directives.

The properties were officially handed over to the PDP National Chairman, Abdulrahman Takushara, and National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, bringing an end to a tense standoff over control of the party’s headquarters.

The development was confirmed in a statement issued by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, who commended the police for their professionalism and respect for due process.

According to the statement, the action by the police reflects adherence to the rule of law and constitutional order, following the enforcement of valid court rulings. The party described the move as a significant step toward restoring stability after days of internal conflict.

However, the PDP also issued a stern warning against any further disruption at its secretariat. It stressed that acts capable of causing unrest or breaching peace would not be tolerated, adding that security agencies have been placed on alert to respond swiftly to any violations.

The party urged members to view the development as a resolution of the crisis and called on aggrieved factions to unite in the collective interest of the organisation. It emphasized the importance of solidarity and reconciliation to strengthen the party moving forward.

The unsealing of the secretariat signals a return to normalcy within the PDP, with leadership now firmly reestablished both legally and operationally.
