The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has hailed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the architect of modern Nigeria on the occasion of his 74th birthday.
Speaking on behalf of the National Working Committee, party leaders, stakeholders, members, and supporters across Nigeria and the diaspora, Yilwatda described the celebration as not only a mark of Tinubu’s personal milestone but also an opportunity for Nigerians to reflect on his life, legacy, and enduring contributions to the nation’s democratic development.
He noted that President Tinubu’s career has been defined by vision, resilience, strategic leadership, and an unwavering commitment to nation-building. “Over the decades, he has distinguished himself as a patriot, reformer, democrat, bridge-builder, and bold thinker who consistently places national interest above personal comfort,” Yilwatda said, highlighting Tinubu’s journey from democratic activism to his tenure as Governor of Lagos State and now as President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
Yilwatda emphasized that under Tinubu’s leadership, Nigeria is undergoing a transformative era marked by bold reforms aimed at economic stability, inclusive growth, and long-term prosperity. “Rather than postpone difficult but necessary decisions, the President has initiated far-reaching policies that lay a sustainable foundation for national development,” he said.
The APC National Chairman commended Tinubu’s administration for stabilizing the economy, restoring investor confidence, strengthening fiscal discipline, expanding infrastructure, reforming critical sectors, and enhancing social interventions. He also highlighted efforts to improve agriculture, revive industry, ensure energy security, expand access to education and healthcare, and foster an enabling environment for enterprise and innovation.
On governance and security, Yilwatda noted the administration’s commitment to youth empowerment, digital innovation, national unity, and a secure and confident federation. “President Tinubu’s leadership reflects firmness, clarity of purpose, political wisdom, and an unwavering belief in Nigeria’s greatness,” he said.
He concluded by affirming the APC’s pride in Tinubu’s reformist agenda, noting that while reforms may bring temporary challenges, they are essential for building a stronger, more prosperous, and equitable Nigeria for current and future generations.
