The National Publicity Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, has stated that his party is not concerned with ongoing efforts to reconcile the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking on Thursday during an interview on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief, Morka emphasized that the APC’s focus remains squarely on preparing for the 2027 general elections. “We’re not worried about efforts to reconcile within the PDP, and we don’t have any reason to be worried. Our concern is the election,” he said.
He highlighted that the APC’s national convention, which is approaching, is a key priority for the party. “Our national convention is just coming up. We’re focused on that. We are working hard to ensure that all of the structures and processes that should be in place are properly established,” Morka added.
According to the APC spokesman, the party is primarily focused on strategizing to secure victory in future polls rather than engaging with or commenting on internal dynamics of opposition parties. “We’re not really thinking about reconciliation efforts in the PDP. If they choose to reconcile, that’s great,” he remarked.
Morka’s comments reflect the APC’s strategy to maintain a forward-looking campaign posture while consolidating party structures ahead of the next electoral cycle. Observers note that the statement signals the ruling party’s confidence in its own organizational planning and electoral readiness, even as the PDP navigates internal divisions.
With the 2027 general elections on the horizon, political analysts anticipate that both ruling and opposition parties will intensify preparations, focusing on party conventions, candidate selection, and grassroots mobilization. The APC’s messaging, as articulated by Morka, underscores the party’s intent to keep its agenda centered on internal cohesion and electoral strategy, rather than the affairs of rival parties.
