Israeli authorities reported that missile attacks originating from Iran on Thursday left six people lightly injured and caused damage to property, according to medics. Air defences responded to the assaults, and emergency services were deployed to affected areas.
A spokesperson for Israel’s Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency medical service said paramedics treated six individuals for injuries sustained from blast effects, revising an earlier figure of two. Several homes in the central city of Kafr Qassem were also damaged, with Mayor Haitham Taha attributing the destruction to cluster munitions.
The Israeli military stated that Home Front Command rescuers were dispatched to one of the impact sites in central Israel. In multiple statements issued over approximately 90 minutes, the military confirmed that missiles had been launched from Iran toward Israeli territory. “Defensive systems are operating to intercept the threat,” the statements said, adding that residents were subsequently allowed to leave protected spaces.
Air raid sirens sounded across central Israel, including in Jerusalem and Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank, while explosions were reported in Tel Aviv following the alerts. The attacks came roughly 14 hours after the military had last reported incoming missiles from Iran.
Central Israel also experienced overnight attacks from Lebanon, where Hezbollah, an Iran-backed militant group, claimed responsibility for targeting military sites. Israeli media reported that six rockets launched from Lebanon were intercepted by air defences.
The military and emergency services continue to monitor the situation, emphasizing that protective measures remain in place as authorities assess damages and respond to any additional threats.
