The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has announced that the former Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, along with Joel Adoga, will be formally arraigned at the Federal High Court of Nigeria, Kaduna Judicial Division, on Tuesday, 24th March 2026.

The announcement was made public through a notice signed by John Okor Odey, Head of Media and Public Communications for the ICPC, on Monday. The case, which has been assigned suit number FHC/KD/73/2026, lists charges that include the conversion and possession of public property as well as allegations of money laundering.

In a related development, the ICPC has also filed another case against El-Rufai and Amadu Sule, also known as LEDA, at the Kaduna State High Court. This suit, under case number KDH/KAD/ICPC/01/26, contains charges that cover abuse of office, fraudulent activities, intent to commit fraud, and conferring undue advantage, among other allegations.

Both cases were officially filed by the ICPC on 18th March 2026. While the Federal High Court arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday, the date for El-Rufai’s appearance at the State High Court is yet to be communicated by the judiciary. The Commission confirmed that all involved parties have been duly served in line with legal procedures.

The ICPC emphasized its dedication to upholding due process and the rule of law in all its investigations and proceedings. The Commission reiterated that every step in the handling of these cases will follow the principles of fairness and justice, ensuring that legal processes are conducted transparently and without prejudice.

Observers note that these developments come amid ongoing public debates about governance, accountability, and anti-corruption enforcement in Nigeria. The cases are expected to draw significant attention, given the high-profile nature of the individuals involved and the seriousness of the allegations.

As the legal proceedings unfold, stakeholders across Kaduna State and the nation at large are closely monitoring the cases, highlighting the ICPC’s continued role in enforcing anti-corruption measures and strengthening institutional integrity.
