The 14 Brigade Nigerian Army has informed residents near its range area to remain calm amid an upcoming shooting exercise. The exercise, scheduled from Monday, March 23 to Wednesday, March 25, 2026, is part of the Brigade’s First Range Classification aimed at improving weapon handling, shooting skills, and marksmanship among its personnel.
In a statement signed by Captain Mazinho Attah, Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, the Brigade clarified that the exercise will take place at the 14 Brigade Shooting Range, located within Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Barracks.
The statement advised farmers and residents living close to the shooting range to avoid the area during the exercise period. Captain Attah noted, “Consequently, residents and farmers close to the 14 Brigade range area are please requested not to panic on hearing the sound of weapons fired, and equally keep off from the general area on the stated days.”
The Brigade emphasized that the exercise is purely training-oriented and is intended to enhance operational readiness while ensuring public safety.
